The “Spot-Fire” was developed for detecting
flames from early stage fires. It’s a survey
instrument that reacts to flames over a wide
area of property and distance. The flame
detection design standard is to detect a blaze
from a one sq ft pan of gasoline at a distance of
300 feet. Our engineers optimized the physical,
optical and software parameters and came up
with technology that is far more sensitive.
Indeed, the SpotFire can detect a butane
lighter flame at about 60 ft. The gasoline fire
standard is also amply covered by this product.
Simple to install, durable and weatherproof,
the SpotFire is the perfect detector for large
areas where gas leaks or other flammable
hazards can occur.
Spec wise, the SpotFire is packaged for easy
mounting on a post or wall, where it surveys a
150 degree side to side swath with a 300+ feet
range. One instrument can monitor a 2-5 acre
property, detecting flames from virtually any
source.
The SpotFire works day and night, as there is
no interference or effect from sun light,
headlights, flashlights, cap-lamps, or from
fluorescent or HID building lights. It reacts within
5 or so seconds to flames from burning
methane, propane, butane, gasoline, alcohol,
paper, and every combustible material we’ve
tried.
The unit is a delight to demonstrate. I was
giving a talk at the Marcellus Insight Symposium
a few weeks ago at the Philadelphia Convention
Center. My subject was Rel-Tek’s WellBoss
