Mining industry encompasses a wide range of industries that are fundamental to the global economy. These industries are primarily focused on the extraction of natural resources, including minerals, metals, fossil fuels, and other valuable materials from the earth. The significance of these industries cannot be overstated, as they provide the essential raw materials that serve as the backbone for numerous other industries, including construction, manufacturing, energy production, and technology. Thus, it becomes very important to protect the workers who are part of these industries. This is where Rel-Tek comes in. Rel-Tek mission is to save lives.

To do that, Rel-Tek engineers, manufactures and supplies complete monitoring/control systems, including software, sensors and alarms. Over the past 4 decades Rel-Tek has been developing and suppling permissible gas detection systems (GDS) for mining industries especially for coal mining later two large salt mines – Morton Salt and Compass Minerals. Rel-Tek GDS monitoring and control systems provide and address safety concerns for the miners while they are doing their job in the mine by monitoring for any permissible gases in the air like methane. When there is certain level of gases in the mine, the system will alert the miners by turning on the alarms (lights and siren) and based on user configuration or software settings it will take action such as turning on the fan(s) or opening doors. Plus, multiple Touch screen display terminals distribute information throughout the operation. The GDS is modularly expandable to suit virtually any mine configuration.
